New RN

Finally the time has come that I must make decisions for myself on the medical floor at the hospital. Sunday night was the first time on my own. I think I was more stressed out then I expected. Things went well for the first night, but I came home exhausted. Guess I have to realize that with the excitement of nursing comes great responsibility! I have enjoyed learning to know my patients and taking time to see them smile. (I have even gotten a few to giggle!)

This past week was a busy one. Tom's sister, Jean and her family stayed at our house from early Sat morning until last night. They are planning on being in the area until Monday sometime. Mr. ITF and I were bridal table servers at a good friend's wedding on Saturday. And the Barbershop convention was in Indianapolis this weekend, so our house was filled with the sound of barbershop. When we weren't home there was a mad scramble to get home quickly to hear the whole show for the day. (Mr. ITF was listening to the convention on computer!)

My sister left Monday after a month stay. I miss her already! It was so much fun having her here and knowing that she could be involved in all our family craziness for the month. A family tradition when someone leaves is to stand out in the driveway and wave until you can no longer see the car. That always makes me cry when it's my sister leaving. Needless to say I came home in tears!

I have had a busy week, but a great week. Later, Jewel
